Caitie Gehlhausen: And as we kind of let some questions pop into the chat, I just kind of want to go back to at the beginning, you kind of mentioned that you also had all these limiting beliefs about what your value and worth was for a full day experience. Did you say, would you say that you like grew out of that as you saw the proof that people were willing to pay for it?
And did you always up your you know, what you were charging before you felt ready for that? Or how did you continue to value yourself at increased offer?
Amy Yamada: It definitely, it was both the kind of proof of concept of, of the enrollments that came in, but more than anything, it was the testimonials that came in at the end of those VIP days.
There was a woman who had been a coach for 17 years named Lisa, and I, I'm getting chills thinking about this moment. She said, I can't believe how much value I've gotten from this day. This has been the best day of my entire coaching business. I was like, you know, like as a coach, like you're like, I can't even, you know, like receive that.
And and it just, to me, it's like, if you really think about the receiving side of it, like where else in your life. Do you have someone that is a hundred percent focused on you, your vision, your dreams, right? Like for a full day, that is not a family member, you know, like someone outside of your inner circle that even, even that it's nice.
People don't have that. Right. So to have someone that's like, like I, when I host a VIP day, I eliminate all distractions, I am a hundred percent focused on you. Right. So it's those testimonials that I got from each of my VIP days for like, oh my gosh, thank you so much. Or even years later this one client of mine.
She came to me when she was struggling with her business. And she was saying, I feel like I should just become like a spiritual business coach because everyone keeps saying that what I really want to offer is not valuable and that I can't monetize it or whatever. And I just looked at him like, that's not who you are at all.
And she's like, yeah, but I feel like I can't generate, I can't charge high ticket for what I offer when I'm not. A business coach in the financial world and all that. I'm like, okay, not everyone is looking for business coaching, you know? And she's like this spiritual, like shamanic, she's got all this cool stuff going on.
And I, we just came up with this idea for her to create this spiritual enlightened experience for her clients. And within the next two weeks, she sold out like. A number of them. She started off charging like 2, 500 but she generated like 20, 000 in two weeks. Because she was so enrolled in like what she was doing.
So anyway, that was a long winded way of saying like, once I started getting testimonials, I started to see the reflection of my own value for them. And realize that my limiting belief is my limiting belief. The other, the other thing that helped me and that has helped my clients is talk carve out time to write down everything that you've done that has contributed to where you are now, right.
From things you've invested in to personal life experiences, to you know, if you've ever traveled to a conference to learn investing in, in mentorship and programs and courses, like add up all of those. And, oh, this is what you do. So you make a list of all these things. And then next to each one put a monetary value of what, either whether it's a number that you invested in that program or, or education or training, or what you would invest to learn what you learned from that personal life experience, and then add it all up.
Right? Yeah, I've done this myself. It's been like, Like in the in the millions or my clients at least in the multiple six figures or seven figures I'm like, okay Now do you feel like you charge five thousand? Because they don't have to live your whole life and do all the things you've done to have access to your wisdom for a day.
